Network security experts agree that well-run companies need a written computer acceptable use policy (CAUP). An effective CAUP does not have to be difficult to create. We provide a free template to clients who utilize our services. Armed with this template, our clients can either create their first network security policy or beef up what they already have.

The purpose of a CAUP is to establish the rules for proper and improper use of computer equipment and network resources within a company.

This policy applies to employees, contractors, consultants, temporaries, and other workers at the company, including all personnel affiliated with third parties. This policy applies to all equipment that is owned or leased by the company.

Inappropriate use exposes a company to risks including virus attacks, compromise of network systems and services, and legal issues.
